One of my assignments this week was to make a hypermedia Powerpoint. This is an interactive slide show that will take you to different slides depending on what option you click on. These can be used for review games in the class room, so students can prepare for an upcoming test.
We used a template to create a Jeopardy game based on our content areas. I made one using SAT vocabulary words, because this was something I remember studying in my English class in high school. The template I used to create the game is on this website. All I had to do was type in the questions and answers. All of the links were already done for me, so it did not take too much time to make the game. I think this is a good time saver for teachers, and I know that students enjoy playing review games and use them as an opportunity to solidify their knowledge before a test.
Madison,
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like such a great tool, and you made it sound like it was very easy to use. Personally when I was in middle and high school I had a love hate relationship with review games! I hated them because I felt like my teachers were always a little disorganized with the games, the same student new every answer, and we sometimes did not get through many questions! On the other hand though, it was a good review to see what I needed to focus on more with studying. If my teachers would have had site such as the one you used to make your review game, maybe things would have went a lot smoother. As teachers we have so many different projects and students to worry about at once, and with sites like these, they can make our lives a little bit easier!
I did something very similar to this in another class I took. It wasn't too hard to put together (maybe a little time consuming, but not difficult to navigate really) either.
ReplyDeleteI think its a great tool to use, especially for vocabulary like you used it for. I remember when I was in high school we would use things like this and my teachers would even put the file on our class site online for us to review at home. If used right, I think it could be very beneficial to students.
